  • This particular song is timeless. Whether its 1963 or 2020 it fits right in to any period of time. Its also a very special song sung by a very special person Leslie Gore. RIP Leslie

  • This song was such a breath of fresh air and sunshine [tho it's in a minor key] after all those self-pitying Top 40 pop ballads of betrayal and can't-live-without-you, end-of-my-world pathos.

  • I have nothing against Grace, and I truly don’t know if they credited the song towards Lesley or not.
But either way, nothing can beat the original lol.

  • She’s an icon!
Her morals are amazing, and was acting as the correct definition of Feminism.
The face of Feminism has been put in such a bad rep after all these years. They are NOT putting down men, it’s quite the opposite actually.
Feminism promotes the face of equality by using female empowerment to not put down men, but to be equivalent to them.
I still think you can be a male feminist, there’s nothing wrong with that.
There’s nothing wrong with being straight, there’s nothing wrong with being gay, and I think Lesley was the face of that.
Just imagine how good it felt to finally rack your emotions in an audience without caring what they think, even in that Era!
